DAVRA, a research collective founded in 2021 by Uzbek filmmaker and artist Saodat Ismailova, alongside curator Dilda Ramazan, reflects on their groundbreaking, multi-disciplinary contribution to documenta 15 in Kassel, where the group’s immersive installation "Chilltan" and a 41-day public program drew on Central Asian mythological spirits and collective storytelling to reshape regional identity and artistic visibility. The collective’s debut physical gathering during the intense summer months (June 25–August 4, 2022) marked a shift from virtual collaboration to a rich network of exhibitions, videos, and rituals that amplified Central Asian film heritage and transnational solidarity.
